FIBER OPTICS 1-2-3

Hexatronic Canada in cooperation with Light Brigade is providing fiber optic training courses across Canada for the following audiences – field technicians, installers, IT support staff, engineers, field supervisors, OSP staff, maintenance techs, or technical sales staff. This instructor led four-day class includes 2 days of classroom knowledge and 2 days of hands-on skills training to provide the practical understanding and skills required to specify, install, test, and maintain fiber optic networks in many outside plant and inside plant applications. The course is designed to provide an understanding of fiber optic technology, how fiber works, various link components as well as industry standards and best practices. Knowledge gained from the classroom session is then applied in two days of hands-on skills exercises.

PrerequisiteFiber Foundations recommended, but not required

Course Level: Introductory to intermediate. Beginners to experienced fiber technicians find the class and extensive hands-on skills training beneficial

Course Length: 4 days: two days of classroom learning and two days of hands-on skills training

Certification (Optional): ETA Fiber Optics Installer (FOI) – BICSI Continuing Education Credits (30 BICSI ITS CECs) – Light Brigade Certificate of Completion
